Experience

I can teach all levels of math and science up to Calculus II and advanced Biology courses. Also, I have experience working with students on college and scholarship applications. I began tutoring when I was at community college before transferring to Brown University. There I tutored college students in mathematics and science. I really enjoyed tutoring and working with students to help them understand a subject area. I feel like I could really relate to students who struggle with a subject, because I struggled a lot to understand math and science. However, by practicing and studying a lot, I was able to master those areas and obtain a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology. I believe everyone can do that if they are guided in the right direction like I was by professors and tutors. I majored in Biology so I've taken a lot of science and math classes including Chemistry, Physics, Immunology, Biology courses, Organic Chemistry, Calculus I and II, and Public Health courses. I can also help students who need guidance with their college applications. The college application process can be very stressful for some students, and guidance during this time is crucial to their success. I've gained a lot of experience with college and scholarship applications. I was the valedictorian of my community college and transferred to Brown on a full academic scholarship. I also won a $90,000 scholarship from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation to continue my studies after community college. I'm currently working with neurobiology and stem cell research at a lab at Harvard Medical School.
