Experience
I am a software engineer currently working in the bay area. Formerly, I was a Ph.D. candidate in the University of Michigan's physics department. I left in the spring of 2013 to pursue my interest in software development. As a former graduate student working in particle physics, I have a thorough understanding of advanced mathematical techniques. My undergraduate education in computer science and over a decade of experience programming provide me with an in-depth understanding of many programming languages and paradigms. Further, as an active software developer in Silicon Valley, I stay on the cutting edge of technology. I have tutoring and teaching experience dating back to my undergraduate years, where I worked as a tutor in math and physics. As a graduate student, I held teaching appointments (introductory labs as well as recitation sections) for several years as well. Additionally, I have several years of private tutoring experience. Before the age of three, my family moved to South America, where I learned Spanish as a first language. As such, I am well qualified for tutoring Spanish students, even at advanced levels. 5/5 AP Calculus BC 5/5 AP Physics B 5/5 AP Chemistry 5/5 AP Macroeconomics 4/5 AP Microeconomics 5/5 AP English Literature When dealing with students, my focus is on developing a deep understanding of the given material while simultaneously helping students understand their application in the classroom. This approach helps prepare students for their coursework, exams, and future studies in related fields.
