Experience

I recently received my Ph.D. in Chemistry, and I have begun a job as a research chemist at Clariant Corporation in Palo Alto, CA. I am finished working around 3 pm on weekdays, and I would like to start tutoring students after work on the weekdays. I have a long history of tutoring experience starting in 2001 when I began tutoring math, chemistry, and physics for the MESA program at Santa Rosa Junior College. During my time at USF working towards my M.S. degree, I taught 6 semesters of General Chemistry, 1 semester of Analytical Chemistry, and 2 semesters of Organic Chemistry. Finally, I taught 4 sections of General Chemistry during the first year of my Ph.D. work.

Hobbies

I am an inorganic chemist by training, and I love teaching, doing, and talking science. I am also a skilled carpenter, and I enjoy volunteering my services with Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together Oakland. I also enjoy watching and playing baseball, basketball, and football. My girlfriend and I have a dog, and we like talking him out to the park and on outdoor adventures.
