Education

Graduated from UC Davis in 2015 with a degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior. Cumulative GPA 3.85 I am currently preparing my application for MD PhD programs around the country. I plan to apply in 2017, and begin medical school in the fall of 2018. Until then, I plan to be in the area for a couple of years.

Experience

Most recently, I have about 8 months experience tutoring locally, though I have been helping friends and family for years. My younger brother has Asperger's/autism, and I would often help him with his schoolwork by breaking his assignments down into more manageable chunks. I specialise in math and science at the middle and high school levels. I can also tutor most college-level classes. I'm very good with organization and scheduling, as well as study techniques and habits, and test-taking skills/tricks. I've taken college-level coursework in many subjects with mostly A's, including calculus, linear algebra, biology, chemistry, physics, statistics, and introductory computer science. More specific coursework I've taken includes neurobiology, psychobiology, physiology, genes and gene expression, and biochemistry.

Hobbies

In my free time I enjoy cooking and eating vegan dishes, dog training, video games, hiking, and speaking in Spanish. Most of all I enjoy challenges and new experiences, both in academics and in my personal life. I've been raising puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind since 2011, and am currently raising my 7th dog with my family.
